Chudala - The Novel

by Visvamitra

We have begun writing the Chudala novel. Our goal is to publish this book in November of 2019. This is the core resource for the Chudala movie(s). The theme of this book is Moksha and it will be published in the Metaphysical & Visionary Fiction category on Amazon.

The book takes its inspiration from a story in the Yoga Vasishta about a queen named Chudala. You can read the story in this PDF segment of the Yoga Vasishta.

We have decided to publish the rough draft, one chapter at a time, on this website and to send each chapter to our friends and supporters for their feedback. This is a very important project for us and we want to get it right! Your comments on each chapter are crucial to helping us create a best selling book.

Please give us your honest opinion of the book and suggestions for improvement. Is the book interesting and do you want to read more when you finish a chapter? Can you follow the plot - is it clear? This is the rough draft so it will contain some editorial issues, grammar problems, etc. We will have the book professionally edited before publishing so you do not need to focus on that. What is important is to keep in mind our target audience: This demographic is defined in the text of “Spiritual Seeking in the United States: Report on a Panel Study” found here (article).

This demographic is labeled “Highly-Active Seekers” by this report and contains interesting information from its research:

“These highly-active spiritual seekers are of particular interest since they represent the most rootless, most questing of all the subgroups. Table shows the social correlates of these spiritual seekers. They appear to have been highly influenced by the post-sixties idealism and therapeutic culture with its emphasis upon self-fulfillment and potential for human growth. Many are well-educated, upscale professionals, yet considerable numbers report having had to scale down their expectations as they have grown older. Evidence of inconsistent statuses is apparent, which may help to explain their strong negative views toward religious institutions; bourgeois norms of respectability and conventionality are typically rejected. They tend to earn less income than others of their generation, are more likely to be separated or divorced, to hold liberal political views, and to have fewer conventional social networks of any kind. Judged on the basis of an index constructed from several indicators, 9 percent of our original survey population fit into this category.”

We would be happy to include many more in this demographic, but for sure some people such as the Evangelical Christians and those who oppose the idea of reincarnation will not like the book. We may snag the Star Wars audience with Chapter 4 which presents a unique perspective on the reality behind that story.

Please use the Comments box below each Chapter for your suggestions and comments. I realize this is not "literature" yet, but rough drafts rarely are. The rough draft is to get the characters and plot down on paper - it is like the skeleton of the book. When we return for the final editing, we will add all the features that will make Chudala a finished novel.

Enlightenment is the Level of Consciousness that is the Supreme Goal of all human development. This is an experience that I am not my body or mind. I am free of all boundaries of space and time and I am the silent witness of all.

Other words for Enlightenment are "Moksha" or "Nirvana".

Siddhis are spiritual, paranormal, supernatural, or otherwise magical powers, abilities, and attainments that are the products of spiritual advancement through the practice of samyama meditation.

Chudala - Becoming Arjuna Course

Chudala is a fictional character from the Yoga Vasishta who is striving to attain all 5 Levels of Moksha.

Moksha has 5 Levels

Moksha (Moksha), also called enlightenment, vimoksha, vimukti, mukti, nirvana and Kaivalya, and means emancipation, liberation or release from samsara, the cycle of death and rebirth. Moksha connotes freedom, self-realization and self-knowledge. Only those who attain Moksha can escape from the cycles of birth and death.

Cycles of Birth and Death

Moksha is a central concept and included as one of the four aspects and goals of human life; the other three goals are dharma (virtuous, proper, moral life), artha (material prosperity, income security, means of life), and kama (pleasure, sensuality, emotional fulfillment). Together, these four aims of life are called Purushartha.

Moksha Dharma Artha Kama

Moksha is not merely an absence of suffering and release from bondage to samsara, but also the presence of the state of paripurna-brahmanubhava (oneness with Brahma, the One Supreme Self), a state of knowledge, peace and bliss.

Let's look more deeply into Moksha and discover its relative and Absolute levels. Moksha is more of a path than a destination.  Moksha is first realized when the individual has the direct experience of living in the present moment while witnessing the physical life going on by itself.
